COMPOUND
Engineer the unlimited consumable.
Compound is the layer most service businesses never reach. The mechanics work. The team is right. The scoreboard is green. Now the question is: how do you escape capacity altogether? The Compound phase identifies the unlimited consumable inside the business — the revenue layer where the cost of serving the next unit approaches zero — and engineers the transition.
Theory of Unlimited.
The Theory of Unlimited is the foundational thesis behind Revenue OS: every capacity-bound service business should engineer at least one unlimited consumable. There are five archetypes for building one — razor-and-blades, productized service, hybrid (DIY + DFY), IP licensing, and digital twin.
At least one revenue stream that isn't bound by people, seats, or hours.
The KPI: Unlimited Revenue Ratio (URR) = Revenue from unlimited consumables / Total revenue. Most service businesses start at URR = 0%. The 5-year target for a mature operator is URR ≥ 25%. Beyond 50%, the business has structurally escaped service economics.
